If you thought the Steam Deck was expensive…
Xbox Ally X20 - Now with OLED
ASUS announced the ROG Xbox Ally X20, which looks a lot like an Xbox Ally already, but now with a larger screen. Which is also OLED VRR it supports FreeSync with a minimum FPS of 30FPS and a max of 120FPS. It also has a transforming d-pad which switches between normal cardinal directions and a more disk shaped d-pad. No news on the price, but if you look at the Lenovo Legion Go 2 price, I’m sure this thing is going to be really expensive. Oh! and don’t forget this is sold in a bundle with XR glasses, which is a choice. It has a beautiful screen, but you don’t use that when you have the glasses on.

Xbox chief says “It was a miss, and I own it”
Some fans are upset at Microsoft for including logos for other platforms in their marketing materials. Honestly this drives me crazy. The fact of the matter is, showing the other logos is helpful to the customers, us the gamers. We benefit by seeing what platforms these games will be on. Unlike when Sony releases a trailer and pretends that other platforms don’t exist, which to me just screams insecurity. Asha Sharma the newly minted head of Xbox said “Seeing the feedback on logos. It was a miss, and I own it. We are talking about how we adjust for future XBOX shows.” At the end of the day, it isn’t a big deal, but this is the kind of thing I’d really like Sharma to ignore. XBOX shouldn’t feel like they have to respond to every single complaint.
I can also see the arguments on the other side though, showing the logos could communicate that you don’t need an XBOX to play these games. True, but guess what, you don’t, for exclusives, just put the XBOX logo there, but if a game is playable on Switch, or PlayStation, tell people. It makes me think of politicians that say “my opponent” instead of saying their name. Feels like a decision made by focus groups instead of leadership.
